Rumor: LG G Flex coming to AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile

A short tweet from a well-known leaker reveals that one of the first two flexible display smartphones will arrive in the USA at some point in the future.

So far, the LG G Flex has launched in South Korea and is confirmed to arrive in France via local mobile operator Orange...

...While @evleaks has posted mostly accurate leaks, we’re going to remind you that LG is yet to make the launch official, so don’t get excited just yet.

However, what’s interesting in case the rumor turns out to be true is that LG may beat Samsung when it comes to launching the first flexible display smartphone in the USA...

Sprint Nexus 5 reportedly spotted on carrier’s website

After hearing that Sprint may carry the Google Nexus 5 once the handset becomes official, we’re now looking at alleged Nexus 5 press images that were reportedly discovered on Sprint’s website.

An Android Headlines tipster has apparently found “plenty of pictures of the Nexus 5 on Sprint.”

As you can see in the gallery below, the press renders look very much like the ones we saw a few days ago, but there’s no way to tell whether they come indeed from Sprint’s servers or not. The device is not Sprint-branded, and it will be interesting to see whether the Nexus 5 will have any kind of carrier branding – the Sprit Galaxy Nexus did have a Sprint logo on the back...

Sprint unveils Spark, its ultra-fast 1Gb wireless service

Sprint wants to get back into the network speed discussion badly.

The company on Wednesday unveiled Sprint Spark, its brand for the ultra-fast LTE service that eventually will offer a wireless connection capable of delivering data at a blazing 1Gbps. But initially, Spark will be able to deliver peak speeds of 50 to 60Mbps.

Sprint, which has fallen behind in its deployment of a faster 4G LTE network, is in desperate need of catching up with the competition. Sprint has been hampered by the shutdown of its Nextel network and complications with business deals, including the acquisition of former partner Clearwire and a takeover by Japanese carrier SoftBank. The company lags behind at a time when consumers are focusing more on the speed of their service...

Sprint updates Samsung Galaxy Note II with Multi-Window feature

Multi-Window is a key feature for the Samsung Galaxy Note II because it adds split-screen functionality to the device's 5.5-inch display -- allowing you to run two apps at the same time -- but unfortunately it has been noticeably absent on the phone's US versions. Until today, the carriers have remained oddly silent about if or when their model would even receive it. Two weeks after its initial release, Sprint's Note II will receive an update (L900VPALJC) that enables the missing feature, in addition to some minor enhancements to GPS, email and SMS. We're expecting to see the rollout start today, but Sprint advises us that it may take up to five days before it hits your particular unit. It's about time -- and we can only hope that the other carriers will follow up with updates fairly quickly. Head to the source link to find out how to install the update, as well as full details on the other fixes in the new build.

Sprint rolls out new 4G tablet data plans November 11th, likely just in time for new(er) iPad, iPad mini

As a carrier trailing Verizon and AT&T in terms of subscribers and now 4G coverage, Sprint has made it a habit to undercut the other two on value. While its upcoming tablet-specific data plans won't necessarily be cheaper, they do promise up to 20 percent more data for the same price and still do not require a contract. Sure to come in handy now that it's offering the fourth generation iPad and iPad mini on its network, they are 300MB/$14.99, 3GB/$34.99, 6GB/$49.99, or 12GB for $79.99. There are also $10 and $15 offers for customers that also have Sprint smartphones that offer 100MB and 1GB of data, respectively, and activation fees for all 3G/4G tablets are being waived for a limited time. As you'll recall, Verizon and AT&T's offerings include 2GB/$30 (3GB/$30 on AT&T), 5GB/$50 and on Verizon, 10GB/$80 packages. Even if you're not an Apple user these plans apply for all 4G capable slates, with Samsung's Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 specifically mentioned. For those planning to pick up one of the latest iPads with wifi + cellular capability however, their mid-November launch date may have narrowed slightly , since these plans go into effect November 11th. Check the press release after the break or a post on its Sprint Community blog for more info.
